La guérison communautaire et la réconciliation des mémoires historiques émergent alors parallèlement à la demande d’une reconnaissance politiquement et symboliquement éclairée du passé ainsi qu’à une réforme des relations euro-africaines dans l’ère postcoloniale. Le passé, le présent et l’avenir apparaissent alors comme des espaces-temps dans lesquels les jeunes d’ascendance africaine sont appelés à s’enraciner tout en refusant de rester enfermés. Enfin, plutôt que de porter le poids et les blessures de l’histoire, vivre en marge, en déplacement, voire déraciné, est présenté comme une occasion de poser des questions qui, au-delà du masque de l’identité ou de la couleur, touchent au centre névralgique le plus profond de l’existence humaine.\nThrough the inner monologue of a child of African immigrants, the film plunges us in an original and poetic way into the heart of the identity journey of children of the diaspora. Community healing and reconciliation of historical memories emerge alongside the demand for politically and symbolically enlightened recognition of the past and a reform of Euro-African relations in the postcolonial era. The past, present, and future appear as spaces and times in which young people of African descent are called upon to put down roots while refusing to remain confined. Finally, rather than bearing the weight and wounds of history, living on the margins, in displacement, or even uprooted, is presented as an opportunity to ask questions that, beyond the mask of identity or color, touch on the deepest nerve center of human existence.\n\n
