Les souvenirs de sa présence se sont depuis perdus dans la fureur des guerres civiles, du génocide et du sida qui ont ravagé le Burundi puis le Rwanda et qui ont précipité son exil vers la Suisse. En revenant au Rwanda 30 ans plus tard, il se risque à rouvrir les pages de son histoire familiale en partant à la rencontre de celles et ceux qui ont connu sa mère. A travers sa mémoire, c’est le portrait de toute une génération de femmes rwandaises qui se dévoile.\nGaël was only five years old when his mother, Didy, died. Memories of her presence have since been lost in the fury of civil wars, genocide, and AIDS that ravaged Burundi and then Rwanda, precipitating his exile to Switzerland. Returning to Rwanda 30 years later, he ventures to reopen the pages of his family history by seeking out those who knew his mother. Through his memories, the portrait of an entire generation of Rwandan women is revealed.\n\n
