Comme son titre ne l\u2019indique pas, ce film est, justement, l\u2019histoire d\u2019un retour : celui de quatre jeunes guadeloup\u00e9ens sur la terre de leurs anc\u00eatres, \u00e0 la Porte du Non-retour, l\u2019endroit m\u00eame d\u2019o\u00f9 ils sont partis il y a plus de trois si\u00e8cles, dans les cales d\u2019un bateau n\u00e9grier.
\nIls ont parcouru 14000 kms et remont\u00e9 400 ans d\u2019histoire pour revenir sur la terre de leurs anc\u00eatres, pour laisser une empreinte, faite de briques et de ciment, mais aussi d\u2019espoir et de lumi\u00e8re.
\nSe savent-ils encore africains, eux qui ont choisi d\u2019effectuer ce retour aux sources, le temps d\u2019un chantier de solidarit\u00e9 qui sera pour eux une extraordinaire aventure humaine ? This documentary film tells the story of four young Guadeloupeans who went back to the land of their origins, to the Gate of No-Return, the exact location where their ancestors had left from, in a slave ship\u2019s hold, over three centuries ago.
\nThey have traveled 9000 miles and gone back 400 years of history to return to the land of their ancestors, to leave a footprint, made of bricks and cement, but also made of hope and light.
\nDo they still see themselves as Africans, those who have chosen to return to the source for an international solidarity project that was most of all an extraordinary human adventure.
\nWhat have they kept of their roots that could prepare them to the culture choc, the social gap that exists between the French Departments of the Americas and one of the poorest countries in the world?
