Au Burkina Faso, à 27 ans d’intervalle, deux Octobre se contemplent. Le premier, en 1987, vit l’assassinat du père de la révolution démocratique et populaire, Thomas Sankara. Le second, en octobre 2014, voit le peuple destituer par la rue son successeur, Blaise Compaoré. Dans les quartiers populaires de Ouagadougou, la petite et la grande histoire se rejoignent dans la case des femmes où vit le jeune Mika. Trois générations tissent la fable de l’endurance d’un peuple sur le chemin d’une quête de justice, de vérité et d’intégrité.

In Burkina Faso, 27 years apart, two Octobers confront each other. The first, in 1987, saw the assassination of the father of the democratic people’s revolution, Thomas Sankara. The second, in October 2014, saw his successor, Blaise Compaoré, overthrown by the people in the street. In the poor neighbourhoods of Ouagadougou, the personal and political – history on a small and on an epic scale – meet and mix in the women’s hut where Mika lives, a teenage boy. Three generations weave this tale of the endurance of a people in search of justice, truth and integrity.
