Au cœur d’un orphelinat du Kivu, des enfants meurtris par les guerres de l’est du Congo se reconstruisent une famille en révélant leur solidarité et leur profond courage. Au fil de leurs mots et de leurs dessins, se déploient leurs récits d’exil et de perte mais aussi leur désir de vérité, leur espoir d’un avenir radieux et leur rage d’exister. Parmi eux, Chantal et Paulin, frère et sœur nés de viols de guerre, se rencontrent pour la première fois, loin de leur village d’origine. Poussés par le besoin de comprendre leurs racines, ils se lancent à la recherche de leur mère et d’un sens à leur identité.

In the heart of an orphanage in Kivu, children scarred by the wars in eastern Congo are rebuilding a family of their own, revealing their solidarity and profound courage. Through their words and drawings, their stories of exile and loss unfold, alongside their desire for truth, their hope for a bright future and their fierce will to live. Among them are Chantal and Paulin, a brother and sister conceived as a result of war rapes, who meet for the first time, far from their home village. Driven by the need to understand their roots, they set out in search of their mother and a sense of their identity.
